# Conducting an Interview

The crux of MeetColab lies in conducting an interview. MeetColab provides a real-time collaborative code editor and a collaborative whiteboard for design interviews. You can write feedback notes while conducting the interview.

# Create Interview

TIP

Not needed if using Meetcolab scheduling

An interview can be created by scheduling one. If not, An interview can also be created using the "Create Interview" Button in the interviews tab. You can provide the candidate's name and email, select an interview type (or go with the default), and start conducting the interview.

# Use CodeColab

Once an interview has been created, you can go to the Codepair link by clicking the orange "Codepair" action button. This will open a new CodeCollab window. For information on the various components of CodeColab, see here.

Start by following any approach specified in the interviewer notes section of the interview type. Then present a question to the candidate and ask them to come up with a solution. Follow the notes on the question as well. Look for key points in their solution and guide them as need be. Remember to keep taking feedback notes, as they are timestamped, and will be visible in the timeline. Associate scores in the rating section as well if you want to. Try to only award a score based on your notes, and remember you can always add the score once the interview is over.

You can present more than one question as per requirement. Once the interview is complete, click on "End Interview" to end the interview.

# Submit Feedback

Once the interview is over, you can click on the blue "Edit feedback" action. This will allow you to fill in information about the candidate, either for your own record, or for someone else. For more information on the feedback form, see here.
